Shaahin Angizi, Assistant Professor and Director of the Advanced Circuit-to-Architecture Design Laboratory (ACAD Lab), specializes in the design of energy-efficient and high-performance ASIC and processing-in-memory platforms. His work also involves a synergic study of memory design technology in device, circuit, architecture, and application aspects, so-called cross-layer design. He recently developed a new hardware-friendly algorithm and platform to process the DNA data in the memory unit without sending it to the processor for future DNA alignment.
