Philip Pong, Associate Professor, Fellow of IET, EI, IMMM, HKIE, and FNS, a chartered physicist, and a chartered energy engineer, has been working on the development and application of advanced sensing techniques based on electromagnetic sensors in smart grid and smart city. Some of his recent projects include:

  • Contactless sensing technology for transmission and distribution grid
  • Multi-core multi-phase power cable monitoring platform at substations
  • Condition monitoring of photovoltaic systems
  • Magnetoresistive sensor development roadmap
