Nirwan Ansari, Distinguished Professor, IEEE Fellow and NAI Fellow, has been working on green communications and networking, network security, cloud computing, drone-assisted networking, and various aspects of broadband networks. Below are two of his recent projects sponsored by NSF:

• SoarNet aims to simultaneously and rapidly transmit data and energy from an access node to a Drone-mounted Base Station.
• FreeNet aims to the liberate wireless access networks from spectral and energy constraints.
