Hieu P. T. Nguyen, Associate Professor, is conducting research on molecular beam epitaxial growth, fabrication, and characterization of III-V based nanostructures for high performance electronic and optoelectronic devices. Below are two of his NSF-funded projects:

• Ultraviolet nanowire LEDs: This project aims to develop high power ultraviolet LEDs using AlInN and AlGaN semiconductors.
• Micro-LEDs: Nanowire structures are utilized for high efficiency full-color light-emitters. The applications of these nanowire LEDs are mainly for micro-displays and AR/VR devices.
