About Me

Haim Grebel, PhD, a professor of electrical and computer engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology, is the director of the Electronic Imaging Center, and a member of the Materials Science and Engineering Program at NJIT. Funded by the National Science Foundation, the Army Research Office and the Navy, Grebel’s research focuses on the linear and nonlinear properties of sub-wavelength structures and understanding the properties of structures at the nanoscale. On the latter, his group effort concentrates on optoelectronic elements that consist of individual single-walled carbon nanotubes.

Grebel has been instrumental in establishing the nanotechnology research focus at NJIT, both experimentally and theoretically. He is the North Jersey Chapter Chair of the Laser and ElectroOptics Society (LEOS) and has organized numerous talks and mini-conferences on optically related and nanotechnology-related topics. In addition, Grebel serves as a role model for young faculty members. He currently is supervising three PhD students and four post-doctoral researchers.
