STUDENT ADVISORY BOARD

About SAB: At ECE we have set up a Student Advisory Board whose primary charge is to be the voice of the undergraduate class.

From each cohort level, freshman to senior year, two or three outstanding students are selected by the department chair to become board members, and by design, ECE programs are represented on the Student Advisory Board by its members.

For example, IEEE and ECE Club are represented by their presidents; at least three members are group study facilitators, the ECE Floor Residents Assistants sit on the board and all members rotate through other programs such as ECE Student Ambassadors and the Women at NJIT Program.

"From my internships I have seen how rewarding a career in Electrical Engineering can be, so after obtaining my BS, I plan to attend Graduate school alongside working full time as an engineer for the first two years of my career. Thereafter, I plan to work in research towards earning my PhD in Electrical Engineering and eventually I would like to lead my own team at a research center focusing on the invention of new and innovative products."

"The most important thing to me about my ECE experience so far is that professors and you advisors are always there to help you out no matter what. I would tell students that it is that it is a challenging department. It will challenge you and will prepare you for what the engineering field has to offer. It will change the way you look at a computer or a circuit. For their post-college future if they'd pick NJIT is that they will not leave NJIT without getting some connections to a company, without getting a great experience, and learning what it takes to become an engineer."

"I am a U.S. Army Veteran and I attend NJIT under a full-scholarship from the Veteran's Affair Dept. I will be graduating this semester with my B.S. in Electrical Engineering.

Due to my knowledge in Power Generation and Distribution (acquired both in NJIT and working as a Power Generation Engineer for the Army), I have secured a job as a Nuclear Electrical Engineer at PSEG in Salem, NJ. During my stay at NJIT, I have been very involved at NJIT and plan to stay associated with the university after I graduate.

I enjoy physical training whether running or weight lifting. I am a hard-core Patriots and Red Sox fan and enjoy watching and following their games results. I am a fan of traveling and meeting new friends. I enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, hunting, off-roading and fishing. I am also working on increasing my reading time to two books a month."
